Daniel A. Clifford 1826 - 1887 . Daguarreotype artist 1842. Landscape stereo-photographer of Newport Vermont on Lake Memphremagog, Wolfeborough and Alton Bay, NH on Lake Winnipesaukee, with a special interest in steamers, lumber operations, and railroad photography. A native of Warren, NH he grew up familiar with the Boston, Concord, and Montreal Railroad and especially the Rumney and lake area of New Hampshire. Educated in Salem, MA and Boston, MA; hotel photographer Pavilion Hotel, Wolfeborough, NH 1866; successor of Frankin B Gage, Saint Johnsbury, VT circa 1870. Contemporary of the Kilburn Brothers and John P. Soule. Daniel was a noted musician, demonstrating the talent to read music at age eight, later conductor and teacher of music from age 17. In photography he became a respected leader in the National Photographic Association.
